War of Dots: Last Stand - Update 0.1.5 Devlog #13 Reorganization system


Greetings, Dot Commanders!
Version 0.1.5 is one of the most content-heavy updates so far. This patch focuses on deeper army control, improved deployment tools, better AI behavior, and a large amount of fixes and polish across the entire game. Many systems were either reworked or heavily refined to improve both gameplay flow and stability.
π§© Advanced Unit Reorganization System
A highly refined unit reorganization system has been implemented. Players can now rearrange units in a much cleaner and more predictable way, allowing for better formation control and more deliberate battlefield setups. This greatly reduces randomness and makes army management feel more strategic and responsive.
β¬οΈ Unit Upgrading During Deployment
Units can now be upgraded directly during the deployment phase. This allows players to fine-tune their army before the battle begins, invest resources where they matter most, and adapt their strategy to the situation without restarting the scenario.
β Unit Removal During Deployment
A new option to remove units during deployment has been added. This makes it easier to adjust army size, remove unwanted units, and keep the battlefield organized before combat starts.
βοΈ Unit Balance Improvements
A balance pass was applied to multiple unit types. Damage values, effectiveness, and roles were adjusted to create more consistent and readable combat interactions. Battles should now feel fairer, with clearer strengths and weaknesses between units.
πΉ Sniper Unit Fixes (Enemy & Ally)
Sniper units have been properly fixed for both enemies and allied forces. Targeting logic, attack behavior, and engagement consistency were improved, making snipers function as intended instead of behaving unpredictably.
ποΈ Friendly Allied General Added
A friendly allied general has been added to the battlefield. At this stage, their behavior is limited and mostly passive, but this feature establishes the foundation for more advanced allied AI leadership in future updates.
π§ AI & Pathfinding Enhancements
Overall pathfinding has been improved across the map. Units navigate terrain more smoothly, take better routes, and are less likely to get stuck or move inefficiently.
π Bridge Pathfinding Fixes
Pathfinding on bridges received special attention. Units are now far less likely to block each other, pile up, or freeze when crossing narrow areas, resulting in smoother movement and fewer battle interruptions.
π€ Improved AI Behavior
Enemy AI logic has been refined again. Enemies position themselves more intelligently, react more consistently to player actions, and behave in a more tactical and believable way during combat.
π New Game Icon
The game now features a brand-new icon, improving visual identity and overall presentation.
π§Ή Large Bug Fix Pass
This update includes a very large number of bug fixes affecting unit behavior, AI edge cases, collisions, deployment issues, and general gameplay stability.
π¦ Reduced Unit Blocking
Units now block each other significantly less, especially in tight spaces such as bridges and chokepoints, leading to smoother and more reliable battles.
Numerous smaller under-the-hood improvements and optimizations were also made to strengthen the gameβs foundation.
